Dad turns 82 tomorrow, a milestone that, only a few months ago, none of us were entirely sure he would reach. Unfortunately, he will spend his birthday back at Sheltering Arms Rehabilitation Hospital outside of Richmond. Last weekend, Dad had to undergo surgery to repair an abdominal problem resulting from scar tissue left by the emergency surgery he had last spring. Dad came through the surgery well, but it left him weak, so he is back in rehab for a week or two to help him regain his strength.
